My first recognition of these 'operating on a different plane' ads was in one some years ago by the mobile phone company Orange (a UK network). It was all very through the looking glass and other worldy as it effectively told us: sign up to our network and join a vast club of people dissatisfied with their lives. Oh, the irony.
